Development/Fundraising Coordinator (Los Angeles)

The Development/Fundraising Coordinator (Los Angeles-based) is part of a passionate and fast-paced team and is responsible for assisting the Director, Foundation & Portfolio in all areas of the Development department. This is a great entry-level opportunity with hands-on training and room for growth! The job entails donor and events-related outreach, data entry, and donor gift/benefit fulfillment. These duties include but are not limited to: 

Duties and Responsibilities:

PragerU Donate Phone Line and Email:

  • Main point of contact for PragerU donate phone line and email inquiries 

  • Personally handle a high volume of inquiries or determine which inquiries need specialized assistance 

  • Determine which inquiries have the potential to result in significant gifts and alert team for further research 

  • Manage volunteers to assist during high volume periods

  • Recommend and execute improvements to handling high volume of inquiries for maximum efficiency and impact 

Events:

  • In support of gift officers, make event-related invitation and follow up calls as needed to increase event attendance and revenue 

  • Assist at donor events and with various donor campaigns as needed

General Administrative:

  • Keep accurate records of donor engagements in Blackbaud 

  • Mailing/assembling department items such as letters, proposals, Donor Club benefits

  • Assist with assembling donor gifts, informational packets, etc. 

  • Other administrative duties, including supporting the Chief Advancement Officer as needed 


Requirements: 

  • At least 1-3 years of relative work experience preferred

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; demonstrated expertise in Excel

  • Experience with fundraising databases and report-writing software strongly preferred

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills and a can-do, self-starter attitude

  • Eagerness to work in a fast-paced work environment — and ability to get up to speed quickly, solve problems independently, and juggle multiple assignments

  • Strong oral and written communication skills and no call reluctance

  • Motivation to develop relationships and work collaboratively across the department and the organization

  • Ability to problem-solve quickly

  • Excellent project management and planning skills
